The mission of The Pohkseh Presbyterian Church is to proclaim the gospel of God's love and salvation to everyone, to minister to those in need, and to provide opportunities for personal Christian growth through worship, education, missions and fellowship.
The Pohkseh Presbyterian Church Vision
The scripture says, "Without a vision the people perish" (Proverbs 29:18). Vision is having a God given dream about the future and bringing the dream into reality. Our pastor leads us toward God's vision for our church.
Right now our vision includes the following practical dimensions:
1.Through enthusiastic worship we are expressing our love for and devotion to God.
2.We are developing mature followers of Jesus through education and experience.
3.We are reaching to those who do not follow Christ in our community through innovative ministries and through facilities development.
4.We are doing God's work around the world, in our nation, in our state, and in our own community through missions.
Some people ask, "What does it mean to be a member of The Pohkseh Presbyterian Church?" We accept as members those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and have been baptized. Membership in the church is an important step beyond salvation and baptism.
To be a member of The Pohkseh Presbyterian Church means:
1.I have a pattern of weekly participation in our worship services.
2.I am involved with a group of growing Christians.
3.I use my gifts, talents, and resources to support the ministry of my church.
We receive members in the following ways:
1.Profession of Faith and Baptism - for those making first time decisions to receive Christ, follow Him in baptism and join Pohkseh Presbyterian Church.
2.Transfer of Letter - If you belong to a sister Presbyterian church, we will be happy to accept your church letter that you be transferred to Pohkseh Presbyterian Church.
3.Statement of Faith - If you come from another denomination and have been baptized, you can join Pohkseh Presbyterian Church by statement of your faith in Christ.
